The following is a noisy transcript of this shiur by Rav Schachter on Berachot 7a.
I'm not sure exactly where we left off. In the first פרק (perik), I think, we're somewhere in זיין עמוד אלף (Zayin Amud Aleph). Um, the גמרא (Gemara) has a statement that בלעם (Bilam) wanted to curse בני ישראל (Bnei Yisrael), and he knew to be מכוין (mechaven) in which moment. הקדוש ברוך הוא (HaKadosh Baruch Hu) only gets angry for a split second every day, and he knew how to figure out when the split second is. גמרא (Gemara) says there was once a צדוקי (Tzeduki), צדוקי is an אפיקורוס (apikorus), who lived in a neighborhood, here is it again. שמעון (She) was a ר' שוע בן לוי (Reb Shua ben Levi), and he used to חק (hack) a lot about פסוקים (psukim) and תנ"ך (Tanakh). Like the early Christians, he used to interpret all the פסוקים (psukim) and תנ"ך (Tanakh), that is referring to us, and he used to say, "I'm a צדוקי (Tzeduki)." And he used to say, "I'm a צדוקי (Tzeduki)." So he wanted to figure out, he wanted to curse, ר' שוע בן לוי (Reb Shua ben Levi) wanted to curse the צדוקי (Tzeduki), and he, and how do you tell when הקדוש ברוך הוא (HaKadosh Baruch Hu) is angry? You look at the, uh, the head of the rooster when it turns white. That's when הקדוש ברוך הוא (HaKadosh Baruch Hu) is angry. And then he fell asleep. So he understood at that time, and he missed it. So he realized that it's not right. "לא ברכה העולם, אבוהו חש, רחמן וקול מסום." "It's not right to be מטריח (metriach) דריבונו של עולם (deribonu shel olam)." "That מן השמים (min haShamayim), they should punish the צדוקי (Tzeduki)."
